1980 Moscow Olympic torch made from painted and anodised spun alloy, printed with the Moscow Olympic logo and "Moscow 1980", The first Games held in a Communist country, and subject to a boycott by more than 60 countries. For the first time, the Olympic flame in the arena was not lit by the torch, but electronically. Designed by Boris Tutschin, 5000 were manufactured for the relay.
