The National is a compact, unique, and beautiful typewriter, with Its type bars hanging down in a semi-circle to strike the underside of the platen. The hinged carriage must be lifted to reveal what has been typed. There are two shift keys, uniquely moving the whole keyboard assembly forwards and backwards. "The use of the National dignifies your business, impresses those with whom you do business, makes your letters "clear as print", -- avoids possibilities of errors, Saves Time and stamps you as being "Up to Date".
