Included in the set of onboard radio stations along with a Morse telegraph receiver, 
which provided recording of the received radiograms, a transmitter with the Ruhmkorff 
coil, atelegraph key, and the mercury breaker. This equipment was installed on Russian 
ships till 1906. During the tests of this receiver, A.S. Popov made the first proposal 
about using radio waves to determine direction of the ship with respect to the 
functioning transmitter of a radio beacon.
