This is a fabulous men's tenugui patchwork juban. This unique kimono is made from cotton tenugui or Japanese hand towels that were pieced together. Graphic and bold, the positioning of the fabrics must have been carefully considered as there is great symmetry in this garment. Of interest are the sleeves, which are made from Japanese comfort bags (often given to soldiers) called imon-bukuro. Dimensions: 45 3/4 x 52 1/2" Early to Mid 20th Century
