The LK-3 lunar landing module was supposed to deliver one astronaut to the moon. The module was equipped with an ellipsoidal cabin: during the descent, the astronaut would shift to the control panel, and on the surface of the Moon would go through a round hatch. Having immersed himself in the module, the cosmonaut would have risen to the mother ship, having started the engine responsible for braking during descent. The supporting structure was supposed to be left on the Moon.
